Dave Dalton

When the music matters

Dave has been involved in the Northern Illinois music scene since he was a teenager and has
played a wide range of music ranging from jazz to rock folk and country. Dave gained experience on the stage playing on the road at age 19 touring the midwest with The Dave Dalton Band headlining as well as and backing up various national acts.  Dave spent much of his
teenage years practicing for hours every day and writing songs. He studied jazz and theory with Peter Gorgo  who taught many future Mchenry musicians. In addition to guitar Dave sings, plays mandolin, piano bass and drums.


After the touring yearDave decided hang his hat and focused his energies on the recording business.He built Sound Science Studio and spent the next 15 years recording bands and
songwriters in many genres and wrote produced and arranged music for Television and corporate videos with credits including NBC, Kemper Insurance, WW Grainger, McHenry County United Way, he also wrote and performed music for the play Ladder Leading Back performed at the old Woodstock Courthouse. 

​Currently Dave spends his time balancing recording projects, performing writing and teaching guitar and mandolin
